The City of Beloit Police Department, a department whose personnel are committed to protecting the lives, property and rights of all citizens, is currently accepting applications for the position of a Part-Time Records Clerk. Record Clerks provide clerical support to the entire Department. Duties are administrative in nature and include timely data entry, quality control of reports, and the ability to comply with criminal justice confidentiality requirements across a broad spectrum of tasks. This position involves the exercise of initiative and independent judgment of considerable importance. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, typing from electronic dictation or other sources, entering information into a variety of databases, composing correspondence, fulfilling open records request and basic record keeping duties. This is a non-sworn position with no powers of arrest.The open position is part-time 3rd shift and will work 28 hours per week. The position has a rotating schedule which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The shift will be 8.5 hours long with a 30 minute unpaid lunch built in. There will also be one 4 hour shift per week.
3rd Shift Part time- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday @ 10:30pm-7:00am
Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday @ 10:30pm-7:00am
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license or otherwise meet the transportation needs of the position.
3. A minimum of one (1) year of administrative office experience is required.
4. Customer service experience is desired.
5. Experience in law enforcement clerical or records management work is preferred.
6. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position may also be considered.
