The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the positions of Firefighter EMT and Firefighter Paramedic with intent to hire and create an eligibility list for future hiring.
The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District is a full-service Advanced Life Support Fire/Rescue EMS agency operating out of 3 stations and a training center. LOFPD maintains a dynamic fleet of apparatus that includes ambulances, engines, ladders, tankers, heavy rescue, and fire/rescue boats. Our firefighters are represented by the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3987.
Our primary response area is 42 square miles with 17 miles of lakefront waterway and 5 miles of the Osage River. Lake Ozark Fire responds to about 1800 emergency response incidents every year. Our responses include EMS, Fire, Water Rescue, Technical Rescue and Haz Mat incidents. We face numerous response challenges that are unique to our jurisdiction and topography. Our waterfront properties are well developed with many structures, both residential and commercial. Many of our commercial properties and resorts present unique response challenges in a unique environment. LOFPD also provides event support and stand-by services with staffed units on land and water for multiple medium-scale to large-scale every year.
The starting annual wage is $57,000 for a Firefighter EMT and $71,000 for a Firefighter Paramedic at Lake Ozark Fire. LOFPD also provides a robust benefits package including:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Missouri Firefighter I & II (IFSAC or Pro Board if not Missouri DFS*).
- Missouri Hazardous Materials Operations (IFSAC or Pro Board if not Missouri DFS*).
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800.
- Must possess and maintain Missouri EMT license (Current) or Missouri Paramedic license (Current), NREMT, or license from an EMS Compact state.
- American Heart Association CPR or Equivalent (Current). AHA ACLS and PALS (Current, Paramedic only).
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Missouri Driver’s License (or ability to readily obtain if not Missouri).
- PHTLS or ITLS Preferred (Paramedic Only).
- Ability to Pass our Physical Agility Test.
