As the Deputy Chief of Prevention - Fire Marshal, you will lead fire prevention efforts, ensuring our community remains informed, prepared, and protected, with the goal of minimizing risk. You will also oversee the office of Fire Prevention, responsible for setting inspection jurisdiction policy, collaborate with City and County Planning Departments to review plans and make revisions based on new fire prevention codes, and may serve as Safety Officer or other support roles at large incidents.

These are just a few of the many duties and responsibilities in this important role.

• Supervises the development and implementation of fire prevention, community education and inspection initiatives
• Supervises the Deputy Fire Marshals and Inspectors in accordance with established chain of command
• Enforcement of ordinances, codes and laws relating to fire prevention
• Investigates or oversees investigations of fire scenes
• Assist law enforcement agencies in various legal scenarios or legal matters
• Drive innovation in fire prevention strategies and risk reduction
• Functions as Acting Fire Chief as needed
